PH Down works by slowly neutralizing some of the alkaline substances that cause high PH in pond water. It's important to test the PH when using PH Down in the pond. PH should be lowered no more that 0.5 units every 24 hours. Do not treat the pond in the afternoon, there, PH should be tested in the morning to obtain the most accurate reading.
